Background downloader demo

Although the Panda3D plugin will normally download the game engine code automatically if needed to launch a game, displaying a friendly blue progress bar for that download, it is also possible for a web designer to take complete control over that presentation, replacing the standard blue progress bar with any design of his or her own choosing.

This page demonstrates that in action. Here, it is a simple one line of text; but the progress indication could be a Flash applet or anything else.

You may need to remove your local copy of Panda3D before you visit this page, to see it do anything interesting. You can do this by simply deleting your Panda3D install directory. On Windows XP, this is in c:/Documents and Settings/your name/Local Settings/Applications/Panda3D . On Mac, this is ~/Library/Caches/Panda3D. On Linux, it is ~/.panda3d .
